Blurring Lines

I love this picture, I am not entirely sure why but I do. It is another New Orleans Spring Break picture. I like to think of angels and religion as not always together. Rather, as separate things and angels are more than just religious messengers. So when I see both religious symbols and Angels, it makes me think of this. I wish there were more dark images of angels rather than the happy white friendly reputation they always seem to get. However, this picture makes me think of a different topic of distinction that has been in my mind recently; Ethics vs Morals.

Ethics and Morals. Many times these are used interchangeably. I do not think it is entirely appropriate to do so. These two ideas have very different connotations to me. Ethics is about making your personal character just and respectable where morals are about diving the world into right and wrong and making judgments.

So while this picture is not completely related to the concept of ethics and morals to me they both involve distinctions that not everyone sees. In both cases I feel that there is a division amongst the two ideas or objects that people two often blur. I feel that angels and religion are seperate as angels should be more dark, morbid. And Ethics always wins over morals.
